Elizabeth Warren held a roundtable discussion in Minneapolis to talk about criminal justice reform. She is proposing a list of changes including lower incarceration rates, marijuana legalization and the decriminalization of truancy in schools

The criminal justice plan released by Sen. @BernieSanders  is "by far the most sweeping and ambitious criminal justice plan released by a Democratic candidate this cycle," writes @cjciaramella .

Bernie Sanders: "We have a criminal justice system that is racist and broken, and working together we’re going to fundamentally transform it."

Anyway, #ncleg  just passed #HB370  , which requires sheriffs to comply with ICE detainers. I wrote last month about why this fight matters for the fate of both immigration enforcement and criminal justice reform nationwide: #ncpol

Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!

Mitch McConnell just told a group of people, and me, that he has been in the U.S. Senate for 32 years and the last two have been by far the best & most productive of his career. Tax & Regulation Cuts, VA Choice, Farm Bill, Criminal Justice Reform, Judgeships & much more. Great!

I'm gravely concerned that the 14 criminal referrals from Special Counsel Mueller related to the investigation are under the supervision & control of AG Barr. He's virtually disqualified himself to be the kind of person we can expect to stand back & make sure justice is served.

....The Fake News Media builds Bob Mueller up as a Saint, when in actuality he is the exact opposite. He is doing TREMENDOUS damage to our Criminal Justice System, where he is only looking at one side and not the other. Heroes will come of this, and it won’t be Mueller and his...

Think of all the people incarcerated right now on marijuana charges. And you wonder why so many people understand that criminal justice is often neither fair nor just.

Let's remember why NFL players started kneeling. They are talking about the need for criminal justice reform and police department reform.

The fact that Kavanaugh believes that a President should not be subject to civil litigation or criminal investigation while in office means that Trump just nominated a justice who has already reached conclusions on these serious questions. That should raise enormous red flags.

Our criminal justice system is profoundly broken and has failed African Americans over and over again.
