Next in our series of talks around JR's The Chronicles of San Francisco is Cleve Jones! This month, activist + author Cleve Jones will reflect on the disappearance of San Francisco’s gayborhoods, + the consequences of this loss for SF’s LGBTQ community.

The HIV/AIDS pandemic sparked a social movement encouraging governments to rethink approaches to outbreaks. Cleve Jones used this bullhorn in candlelight vigils and marches in San Francisco in the 1980s. The bullhorn was a gift from Jones’ mentor, Harvey Milk. #Outbreak

The the ‘Doodler’ killer targeted white men he met at after-hours gay clubs and restaurants in San Francisco. He usually sketched them before having sex with them and stabbing them. "Even now, the story gives me chills," said gay activist Cleve Jones.
