Strategically Important ‘Col Chewang Rinchen Setu’, a bridge built by Border Roads Organisation over River Shyok, connecting Durbuk and Daulat Beg Oldie in Eastern Ladakh, was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today.

Chewang Rinchen Bridge'>Col Chewang Rinchen Bridge built between Durbuk&Daulat Beg Oldie to be inaugurated by Defence Minister on Oct21 in Eastern Ladakh. It'll reduce travel time by about half & help in development of border areas&villages across Shyok River. It's 45 kms east of Line of Actual Control.

▪️Col Chewang Rinchen, born on November 11, 1931 at Sumur, Nubra Valley in Ladakh region, is known as the “Lion of Ladakh” for his extraordinary acts of courage in defending Leh and Partapur sector.

Defence Minister@rajnathsingh  inaugurated the Chewang Rinchen Bridge'>Col Chewang Rinchen Bridge, built by BRO connecting Durbuk and Daulat Beg Oldie in eastern Ladakh, today. Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat was also present on the occasion. (📸: @rajnathsingh )
