We wrote last month about how the Bucs could gain a mid-round compensatory draft pick by cutting Deone Bucannon. Could get another if they drop WR Breshad Perriman or P Bradley Pinion in the next three weeks.
Remember the hope of compensatory draft picks for the Bucs in 2020? It's still alive, but to get a mid-round pick or two, Tampa Bay would have to cut underperforming newcomers like Breshard Perriman, Bradley Pinion or Deone Bucannon before Week 9. More:
Bucs entered the weekend 30th in NFL in net punting at 37.3 yards per game. Bradley Pinion had a 36.5-yard net today, including his first touchback of season. Return game has been nearly nonexistent so far from Bobo Wilson (30 yards/9 returns) and T.J. Logan (20.0-yard average).
Great friendship among Bucs' new specialists -- Bradley Pinion, in his 5th NFL season, is actually younger than rookie kicker Matt Gay & first-year snapper Zach Triner. "Our whole unit is phenomenal," Pinion said. "We have a really good thing going here."
Bucs P Bradley Pinion, part of a brand-new kicking battery in Tampa Bay, has praise for both kickers and snapper Zach Triner: "All three of these guys make my life real easy. Both Cairo and Matt, whoever they pick, both of them will play this year somewhere, I promise you that."
