"this is a question for all the candidates: did the new deal help bring african-americans into the democratic party before the civil rights era or was oscar stanton de priest's loss, which is seen as the beginning of realignment, actually due to white votes for arthur mitchell"

Many African Americans in this part of South Carolina support reparations. But they say what they want just as much is for the country to grasp the painful history they live with every day.

Steyer took a firm stance on reparations for black Americans claiming to be the only candidate on stage who is in favor of them. "We should have a formal commission on race to retell the story of the last 400-plus years in America for African Americans." #DemDebate

“This President has done more for African Americans in this Country than any President since Lincoln.” @LouDobbs

Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!

Very disappointed in Prime Minister Stefan Löfven for being unable to act. Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States. I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers. Treat Americans fairly! #FreeRocky

Mass murder at a Pittsburgh synagogue. A killer targeting African Americans in Kentucky. The bomb maker. The focus should not be only on Trump, but all who excuse, abet, or stand in silence while hate is stoked for political gain.

So if African-American unemployment is now at the lowest number in history, median income the highest, and you then add all of the other things I have done, how do Democrats, who have done NOTHING for African-Americans but TALK, win the Black Vote? And it will only get better!

We are here to honor the extraordinary contributions of African-Americans to every aspect of American Life, History and Culture. From the earliest days of this Nation, African-American Leaders, Pioneers, & Visionaries have uplifted & inspired our Country...

Senator Graham, you should be ashamed. Your state had 164 recorded lynchings, and your words disrespect and belittle African Americans and lynching victims. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful!

If Donald Trump takes people's anger and turns it against Muslims, Hispanics, African Americans and women, we will be his worst nightmare.

Our criminal justice system is profoundly broken and has failed African Americans over and over again.

Except for African Americans, Muslims, Latinos, immigrants, women, veterans—and any so-called "losers" or "dummies."
