Congratulations to Managers of the Year Mike Shildt and Rocco Baldelli. Both surprising choices in my opinion. I expected the winners to be Craig Counsell and Aaron Boone. What I wrote:

Aaron Boone told us “I didn’t have any issues this year with any club” with them using technology illegally. And would not comment yet on the 2017 allegations vs the Astros but added “we don’t want these type of things in our game” @MLBNetworkRadio

How close was the race for AL Manager of the Year? Winner Rocco Baldelli of the #MNTwins  and the Yankees' Aaron Boone both received 13 first-place votes.

The Twins were very good this year. But I have a hard time believing anybody did a better job than Aaron Boone.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli edged out Yankees manager Aaron Boone for the American League Manager of the Year award. Baldelli led the Twins to the American League Central title before they were swept by the Yankees in the first round of the playoffs.

Despite leading the Yankees to 103 wins and an AL East title, Aaron Boone was edged by Rocco Baldelli for AL Manager of the Year.
