In the footsteps of the leaders who came before us, It is past time to build a more fair and equitable society. We cannot rest until the ideals promised in our Constitution are a reality for all.

Very difficult night for all those Nets fans who have been painfully steadfastly committed to the team since they became fans two years ago.

Scoops of the Day

Now that Juneteenth is a federal holiday, take a minute to learn about Opal Lee—the woman who did more than anyone to make it happen. Let’s follow her lead and try to leave our grandkids a better world than the one we came up in.

This #Juneteenth , we celebrate the end of slavery in the United States, and we remember that systemic racism remains a roadblock to racial equity and justice. We can, and we must, do better.

Today is a day of celebration and pride. We reaffirm and rededicate ourselves to ensuring freedom and justice for all. Happy Juneteenth!

On #Juneteenth , we pause to commemorate news of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation reaching slaves in Texas in 1865. It marks the realization of a dream deferred.  May we carry the lessons of our past with us in our continued pursuit of a fair and equitable future for all.

Black history is American history and in every corner of our city you will find a rich legacy of the march towards freedom and justice. #Juneteenth

Marxism divides people into either oppressors or victims, calls for the overthrow an “evil” system & then seizes complete power in the name of “fairness” The old Marxism used class warfare to divide people The new Marxism uses identity politics But the goal is the same

The best way to celebrate #Juneteenth  is to get focused, get educated, and realize we are in a fight to protect our right to vote. 14 states are already trying to advance voter suppression laws, and that number will only grow. Let’s celebrate, but let's act. End the filibuster!

President Biden just nominated three incredible, highly qualified nominees to fill the vacancies on Connecticut’s federal bench. They have my 100% support. - U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah Merriam - Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarala Nagala - Superior Court Judge Omar Williams

I do not think it is too radical an idea to say that keeping teeth in your mouth should not be a luxury. Medicare must be expanded to include dental care, eyeglasses, and hearing aids.

Joe Biden needs a flash card to remind him that he thinks everything is Trump’s fault. How pathetic.
