Proud to have contributed to @Yale  receiving a "Top Ten Center of Biomedical Research" designation from The Hartwell Foundation for 2020.

YSM researchers set out to study the complex interactions between dying neurons and the glial cells in the central nervous system that are responsible for clearing dead cells and debris from the brain.

Congratulations and thanks to Leo M. Cooney, Jr., MD '69, Humana Foundation Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics), who will retire tomorrow after a long and illustrious career at YSM with @YaleIMed .

Three senior professors who made substantial contributions to their scientific fields and provided many years of service and leadership at @YaleSPH —Brian Leaderer, Ted Holford and Dan Zelterman—are retiring on July 1.

Researchers at @Yale  have found that injury to the cells lining blood vessels may be a key driver of #COVID19  severity and mortality. The findings, published in @TheLancetHaem , may help with testing and treatment.

Three pilot projects to investigate aspects of the current #pandemic  have received funding from @Yale’s COVID-19 Research Resource Fund, which was built with donor generosity. All are joint efforts by scientists from different disciplines.
